Fermentation in stainless steel followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in barrique barrels for 12 month and in large oak and stainless steel for another six months.
Intense on the nose, with ripe forest fruit, cherry, dried violet and spicy notes of coffee and cocoa. This Lagrein has a powerful palate, with balanced tannins and perfectly integrated acidity. Long finish with fine fruit flavours. A red wine that will continue to develop for years to come.
The vineyards in and around Bolzano offer an ideal terroir for the Lagrein grape to scale the proverbial heights. The fruit for this wine grows on the exposed south-east-facing slope that forms part of the Wangger farm in Leitach at the entrance to the Isarco Valley. The soils here are comprised of moraine debris and sandy alluvium.
