Hand-picked grapes. Short maceration ('skin contact') followed by fermentation at approximately 28°C for around one week. Subsequent maturation for about 30 months in stainless steel before bottling and subsequent release.
Intense, fruity nose of red berries and dried blood orange, with floral hints and subtle herbal notes. Ripe, soft tannins on an elegant, juicy palate. Persistent finish with pronounced fruit and a fine mineral twist.
This Nebbiolo d'Alba comes from more recently planted holdings in the estate's top vineyards – making it a baby Barolo, if you like. Soils in these plots mainly consist of clay, sand and limestone.
