Destemming and crushing followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, with 25 to 30 days of maceration (skin contact). The wine matures in 6,000-litre Stockinger oak vats and then spends a few months in concrete tanks before bottling.
Wonderful nose with red forest fruit, dried mountain herbs, violet, spice and a hint of leather. An elegant Barolo with a lovely balance of tannins and acidity, leading into a persistent, assertive finish of seductive forest fruit.
The grapes for this Barolo are picked from various vineyards in La Morra, including Rive (250 metres above sea level) Roncaglie (300 m) and Rocchettevino (400 to 450 m). These holdings are aged between 30 and 70 years, and face east to south-east.
