The grapes for this wine were sourced from various plots in and around the village of Monleale. Manual harvest followed by traditional vinification with native yeasts. Maturation for around 22 months in 228-litre oak barrels, then at least one year of bottle ageing. No filtering.
Dark garnet. Intense on the nose, with ripe blackberry and plum as well as a hint of clove in the background. Juicy and pure on the palate, with fresh fruit, assertive, well-integrated acidity and a tightly woven structure. A fine and delicious wine.
Limestone and loam soils, east- and north-facing slopes.
