Low average yields. Selective manual harvest involving up to three passes through the vineyard. Wild-yeast fermentation in large 2,000-, 3,000- and 4,000-litre oak casks as well as in stainless steel vats. Then gentle pressing. Eleven months on the fine lees for added complexity and creaminess. No filtering or fining.
This Scharzhofberg Riesling has characteristically deep, salty minerality and pronounced, refined elegance. Tremendous ageing potential.
The vines grow on some of the finest mineral-rich, blue weathered Devonian slate soils.
