The primary focus during the vinification stage is on the preserving and expressing the purity of the fruit picked in the vineyard. Selective manual harvest followed by slow fermentation based on the wild yeasts that occur naturally in the vineyard – a process that can last more than 10 months. Maturation in traditional Mosel Fuder (oak casks).
This Grosses Gewächs is a rich and voluptuous dry Riesling with lemon, fresh fruit, ginger and alpine herbs on the nose. It has a very ample and powerful palate, The finish is complex and persistent, delivering intense slate minerality and fine salinity.
Die 1 Hektar grosse Lage befindet sich gleich neben der Pündericher Fähranlegestelle. Die Parzelle der Terrassen ist am oberen Ende und es sind teils uralte Reben. Der Boden ist fast komplett aus blauem Schiefer, welche dem Wein eine besondere Mineralität und reife verleiht.
