Grosses Gewächs quality – kept for at least 24 months on the gross lees in cask. Following this very long period of lees ageing, the wine was racked from the sediment and bottled unfiltered.
The reserve bottlings are less fruit-inflected but have immense structure and complexity. This wine is no exception. A full-bodied Riesling with an intense, powerful finish.
Rothenpfad is south-south-east-facing with red slate. They generally pick the grapes here a little later compared to other GG vineyards, owing to a slightly cooler microclimate.
