Manual harvest followed by vinification in oak as well as stainless steel, with little to no winemaking intervention. Then a long period of maturation on the gross lees. This pure, dry wine is neither fined nor filtered.
Ripe red apple, citrus, apricot jam, Mediterranean herbs and a touch of flint on the nose. Very fine-boned and subtle on the palate, with balanced acidity. A Riesling of great elegance and beautiful mineral length on the finish.
The Ellergrub vineyard in Enkirch is extremely steep, with soil composed of finely weathered blue slate. The vines are around 80 years old.
