Manual harvest into small crates. Maturation for 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks as well as concrete tanks. A further six months of ageing in bottle.
Cherry, violet and a hint of leather on the nose. Black fruit notes, ripe tannins and a succulent mouthfeel on the palate. A balanced Chianti Classico with appealing, fresh acidity. The finish is dry and savoury with enjoyable length.
The vines benefit from a southerly and south-westerly aspect, with roots that dig deep into the stony terrain. Galestro slate, the characteristic subsoil of the Chianti region, absorbs warmth and helps the grapes to reach optimum ripeness, while a calcareous clay topsoil absorbs moisture.
