After being picked by hand, Primitivo grapes ferment on their skins for around 25 days in stainless steel, with the resultant juice left to go through malolactic fermentation. The wine then spends a year in French oak tonneaux (60%) and cement (40%).
The 2021 Chidro has an intense nose of ripe red berries, raspberry jam and dried violet, with hints of tobacco and Christmas spice. This Primitivo is dry and full-bodied on the palate, with rounded, ripe tannins. The finish is persistent and very fresh, offering intense yet delicate berry flavours.
Grown on loam and limestone soils with iron content.
