Harvest of ripe grapes in around mid-October. Destemming and gentle pressing of the fruit, followed by a long period of maceration (skin contact). Eighty per cent of the fledgling wine spent 18 months in large casks made of Slavonian oak, with the remaining portion maturing for at least six months in French oak barrels. Release for sale after six months of bottle ageing.
Medium ruby. Overripe plums, blackberries and spice on the nose. Soft and supple on entry. Juicy acidity and a powerful body. Firm tannins. A wine of great elegance with an aromatic finish.
Calcareous and loamy soils.
