The vacuum distillation process, which was patented at the beginning of the 20th century, was used to produce this zero-alcohol wine. Vacuum distillation removes the alcohol gently while preserving aromatics. It involves passing the wine through a vacuum that causes the boiling point of the alcohol to fall to around 29 °C. At this relatively low temperature, the wine is de-alcoholised without losing its natural aromatic compounds.
This zero-alcohol Cabernet Sauvignon is an appealing red wine with a clean, fresh character. It delivers a hint of ripe cassis and berry taste along with dark cherry and notes of blackcurrant, blueberry and chocolate. Soft tannins ensure a pleasantly dry finish.
Made from fruit grown in the vineyards of Geisenheim, Oestrich-Winkel, Hattenheim and Erbach, which mainly have deep loess and loam soils (including marl and gravel deposits around Oestrich).
