Harvest of selected grapes picked over the course of two runs through the vineyard. Maceration (skin contact) for 72 hours followed by gentle pressing and then fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine was left to rest for a short time before being bottled.
Generous nose of ripe pear, quince and apricot. Juicy on the palate, with saline minerality, ample concentration and balance, and an assertive, long finish.
Sourced from the original Eulengrube sub-plot of Escherndorfer Lump – a south-facing site with gradients of up to 70 degrees and deep soils consisting of shell limestone.
