Instead of resorting to copious amounts of chemical fertiliser, Weingut Dr. Loosen only work their soils using low quantities of organic manure. And more than anything else, they favour a gentle, more old-school form of winemaking that gives their wines enough time to develop their inner balance and pedigree, fermenting them with wild yeasts whenever possible and affording them a long period of maturation on the fine lees.
Intense, concentrated and seductive nose of honey, exotic fruit, candied citrus, ginger, botrytis, and Christmas spice. Sweet and creamy on the palate, with juicy acidity. This Beerenauslese has so much concentration and richness, but is playful and delicate at the same time. Very long finish.
The hand-selected, botrytis-affected grapes for this wine came from Graacher Himmelreich, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Bernkasteler Lay and Erdener Treppchen.
