Careful selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming followed by gentle pressing. Controlled fermentation and further maturation in 228-litre oak barrels made from the finest French oak. After an extended period on its lees, the wine was bottled in autumn.
Slightly reductive on the nose, with flint, honey, floral notes, citrus, and smoky hints. The palate is fresh and compact, with lovely tension as well as a delicate lick of oak on the finish.
Sourced from 24- to 35-year-old vineyard holdings situated on both sides of the Franco-German border. The subsoil consists of weathered limestone under a topsoil of loam and clay.
