Selective manual harvest involving several runs through the vineyard. Destemming followed by natural sedimentation to clarify the juice, then wild-yeast fermentation. Subsequent maturation on the fine lees in stainless steel and barrel , with regular bâtonnage (lees stirring) to enhance flavours.
Ripe citrus and yellow apple on the nose. Firm and precise on the palate, with a beautiful tension-building mouthfeel. This is a delicious Riesling on account of its elegant, saline character. Jesuitengarten is our pick of the bunch again.
Situated on the edge of Forst, Jesuitengarten has a very warm microclimate. Its soil boasts high concentrations of weathered volcanic basalt along with clay, limestone, sandy loam and limestone gravel. With to its extremely high mineral content, it is considered one of the best vineyards in the Pfalz. An old Jesuit monastery in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse used to own the vineyard, hence the name Jesuitengarten.
