Careful selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming followed by gentle pressing. Controlled fermentation and further maturation in 228-litre oak barrels made from the finest French oak. After an extended period on its lees, the wine was bottled in autumn 2019.
Medium lemon. Fine and understated on the nose at present, with citrus, pome fruit and a delicate roasted character. Juicy and incredibly complex on the palate, with a crisp, mineral, stone-inflected note. A Chardonnay with excellent ageing potential and a long-lasting finish.
Sourced from 24- to 35-year-old vineyard holdings situated on both sides of the Franco-German border. The subsoil consists of weathered limestone under a topsoil of loam and clay.
