Long period of maceration (skin contact, including a proportion of stems), during which wild-yeast fermentation occurred (as is the case for every vintage). Maturation in second- and third-use oak barrels. No filtering or fining.
Delicate salmon pink colour, with an intriguing nose of grapefruit zest, raspberry and ripe strawberry, complemented by rosehip, subtle yeasty notes and a delicate touch of oak. Juicy on the palate, with the characteristically crisp, stimulating acidity of the 2021 vintage. Oak maturation has lent this wine a hint of tannin. Add chalky, grippy minerality and a long finish, and you have an extremely serious rosé demanding your attention.
Julian Huber's main red variety is Pinot Noir, while his main white grapes are Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay followed by Pinot Gris and Auxerrois. His Chardonnay and Auxerrois vines are already over 40 years old. Apart from taking advantage of excellent soils and climatic conditions, Huber also achieves high quality through low yields.
