Meticulous selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming then temperature-controlled fermentation on the skins for 18 days. Maturation, including malolactic fermentation, in new and used oak barrels (17 months).
Ripe fruit on the nose, accompanied by violets, lilies and beautiful woody notes. This Pinot Noir is complex and animating with elegance, power and great balance. A very promising wine!
The historically renowned Herrenberg vineyard is situated below the rocks of the Schwedenkopf hill. Its terraced southern portion is a steep south-facing slope with gradients of up to 60 degrees as well as slate and greywacke soils.
