Selective manual harvest. Fermentation in traditional oak vessels, left on skins for four weeks, then gentle pressing. Maturation in French oak barrels (75% new, 25% used), without any intervention, before bottling and subsequent release.
Intense aromas on the nose, with blackberry, ripe forest fruit, plum, black cherry, liquorice and delicate roasted characters. The palate is balanced and has silky tannins. Notable extract without being overly concentrated. Long finish with intense berry fruit and a spicy, peppery note.
Sourced from quickly warming, highly skeletal soils situated north-west of the winery.
