Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Fermentation on the skins in a traditional open-top oak fermenter. Gentle pressing followed by maturation for around 18 months in 228-litre Burgundian oak barrels. Then bottling.
Complex nose of spice, dark berries and aromatic herbs. This concentrated Pinot Noir packs a punch with its wonderful freshness, grippy texture, great finesse and dark fruit notes. A wine of incredible potential.
The Fürst family own 11 hectares on this incline that rises up steeply in places above the town of Burgstädt. The southerly aspect, a unique microclimate, and soils consisting of loam-rich, weathered red sandstone provide excellent conditions for growing vines.
