Meticulous selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming followed by fermentation on the skins for three weeks in open-top oak fermenters and vats, then gentle pressing. Subsequent maturation for 18 months in small barrels made from German and French oak. No filtering and or any other treatment.
Nose of red and black fruit coupled with notes of graphite and liquorice. Elegant, powerful body with beautiful minerality. An intense, juicy, fresh Pinot Noir.
The vines, which were planted in 1967, are situated on the hill that slopes south towards Wissembourg in Alsace.
