Selective harvest followed by manual triage. Cold maceration ('cold soak') for 24 to 36 hours followed by a two-week fermentation. Subsequent maturation for 20 months in 100% first-use French oak, then bottle ageing for a minimum of nine months to add the finishing touches.
Deep ruby. Sourced from old vines, this 2017 Harrison Hill shows leather, cinnamon and herbs on the nose. Dynamic mouthfeel on the palate, with dark berry notes and exotic spice. An elegant wine with a long finish and a promising future ahead of it.
Harrison Hill Vineyard has steep slopes with gravel and sandy loam soils. The vines have reached a venerable age over the last 15 years and now yield only limited crops.
