Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Destemming followed by temperature-controlled wild-yeast fermentation for around 25 days, with regular pump-overs to prevent the grape skins from drying. Subsequent gentle pressing followed by maturation, including malolactic fermentation, for 43 months in French oak barrels. After bottling, the wine was kept back for a further six months before being released for sale.
Casanova di Neri's 2019 Brunello di Montalcino has an intense nose of cherry, forest fruit, and violet, complemented by dried herbs and freshly ground spice. Powerful and full-bodied on the palate, with ultra-fine tannins that are already well integrated. Complex and long-lasting on the finish, with lots of fruit and a hint of spice.
Sourced from the Fiesole, Perderuccio and Perdernuovo vineyards, which are situated at elevations of 350 to 450 metres above sea level. All three sites have an easterly aspect and galestro soils.
