Fruit picked by hand in the early hours of the morning. Daily pumping over of the juice for a gentle extraction of colour, tannins and flavours until fermentation was complete. Subsequent maturation for 16 months in 67% first-use French oak.
Purple colour, with intense Syrah fruit on the nose. Dark berries, orange zest, plum and fig, underscored by pepper and finely judged roasted notes. On the palate, power and richness are in balance. Both the tannins and acidity are harmonious and beautifully integrated. Blackberry and spice on a lingering finish.
Soberanes Vineyard is situated in the Santa Lucia Highlands. The Pisoni and Franscioni families are meticulous in tending the vines in this cool-climate terroir of sandy loam, foggy mornings and Pacific breezes.
