Separate maceration (skin contact) and fermentation for each clone in small stainless steel vessels over a 22-day period. Maturation, including malolactic fermentation, for 11 months in French oak vessels (55% first-use). The wine was bottled in mid-August 2022.
Intense nose of dark berries, violet, rhubarb and spice. Very juicy on the palate, with gentle tannins and a balanced concentration of flavours. Waves of cherry fruit on a long-lasting finish.
Cuvée Number One is made from two Pinot Noir clones grown in the vineyard situated in Green Valley and Santa rosa Plain, a small but very distinct appellation within the Russian River Valley AVA.
