25% of the Syrah kept as whole bunches. Maturation for 24 months on the lees in first-use French oak, with monthly bâtonnage (lees stirring). No filtering.
Freshly ground pepper, red and black fruit, and floral notes on the nose. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, with mild tannins and notable minerality.
Rodgers Creek Vineyard is situated on the western flank of Sonoma Mountain, where the grapes benefit from the cool Pacific air. The Ramey block was planted in 2002 on stony volcanic soil.
