Gentle pressing followed by maturation for 30 months in 60% new French oak barrels. No filtering.
This wine is showing the first signs of development on the nose. Intense and aromatic, with cherry in abundance as well as blackcurrant, herbs, chocolate, tobacco and cedar. Pleasantly rich on the palate, with ripe tannins and spicy, herbal characters on a long finish.
Made from Napa Valley appellation fruit sourced specifically from the St. Helena (30%), Napa Valley (29%), Oak Knoll District (15%), Napa-Carneros (12%), Mount Veeder (6%), Diamond Mountain (5%) and Oakville (3%) AVAs. The wine owes its optimum balance to the different soils of various hillside and valley floor locations.
