Meticulous manual harvest. Wild-yeast fermentation in stainless steel. Subsequent maturation for ten months in 50% first-use French oak. This Pinot Noir was neither filtered nor fined.
Clear and pure Pinot fruit aromas on the nose, with dark berries, cherry, fig, strawberry jam, and spice. Vibrant palate with tremendous succulence and a complex structure. A wonderfully balanced, elegant red wine with a long-lasting finish, ending on notes of red and dark fruit.
The grapes come from Sun Chase Vineyard in the south-eastern part of the Sonoma Coast AVA. This sunny west-facing terroir situated atop the coastal fog line certainly has a fitting name.
