Selective manual harvest in small containers. Fermentation began within one hour and lasted 14 days at a steady temperature of between 28 and 30°C. The wine then spent 20 months in new French oak barrels. Production volume: 2,000 bottles.
Deep ruby colour, with an intense nose of red fruit culminating in spicy notes of pepper, cinnamon and liquorice. This red wine is rich but balanced on the palate and has a long, fruit-driven finish.
The estate's holdings are situated near the small town of Blera, on stony, clayey soils, where the dense plantings (13,000 vines per hectare!) yield an average crop size of 15 hectolitres per hectare. These vines, which grow at an altitude of 380 metres above level, are gobelet-trained.
