Complete destemming of fully ripe grapes, followed by a long period of maceration (skin contact) and then 20 days of fermentation. Maturation for 12 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
Intense ruby colour. On the nose, appealing forest fruit and subtle notes of blueberry jam, cranberry sauce, and liquorice. This red wine is well structured on the palate, with ripe, balanced tannins and a persistent finish ending on notes of vanilla and freshly ground spice.
Sourced from pergola- and Guyot-trained vines situated at elevations of between 300 and 400 metres above sea level in and around Furore and surrounding municipalities. The vineyards here are south-facing with soils consisting of calcareous Dolomite rock.
