Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Long period of maceration (skin contact) followed by gentle pressing, then fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of around 15°C. The wine spent time on its fine lees before being bottled and released for sale.
Medium lemon. Pronounced herbal aromas and fresh fruit notes on the nose. Rich mouthfeel on the palate, with prominent herbal characters as well as complex primary aromas and delicate minerality. A wine of immense concentration, richness and elegance – with a great future ahead of it.
Dhroner Hofberg – a classic steep slope situated in a side valley between Trittenheim and Piesport – is one of the best vineyards on the Mittelmosel. The vines in this exclusively south-facing site with a 30-to-60-degree incline enjoy adequate rainfall all year round, resulting in spicy, richly expressive wines of power and finesse.
