The name Saigner derives from the quality-focused 'saignée' ('bleeding') method of siphoning off liquid from a tank of juice for red wine in the early stages of the winemaking process. This produces a more concentrated red wine, while the bled juice is used to make rosé – no pressing involved.
A picture-perfect rosé for the summer months. Strawberry, raspberry, red cherry and a subtle hint of pepper on the nose. Juicy, refreshing acidity, with fresh red berry fruit also showing on the finish.
Markus Schneider's portfolio of vineyards offer ideal conditions both during and outside the growing season. He also has a veritable mosaic of soils at his disposal: loam, crushed rock, gravel, sand, loess, red sandstone, limestone and various types of clay.
