Pisoni Estate releases only one Pinot Noir every year in September, two full years after the respective harvest. Picking takes place in the cold of night, as this helps to preserve full fruit expression. Only selected French oak barrels are used to mature the wine for one year in order to safeguard aromatic purity. This is followed by a further year of bottle ageing.
Generous on the nose, with classic red fruit, forest floor, and minerality. Elegant and fresh on the palate. Less concentrated than previous vintages, but showing more vibrancy, finesse, and terroir expression.
The wines of Pisoni Vineyards have bags of character, deep colours and remarkable textural qualities – the result of highland terrain and low yields. These exceptional, ageworthy wines owe their vibrant, expressive aromas to the unique combination of fog and cooling breezes that characterise the terroir in which they were grown.
