Meticulous selection of hand-picked grapes. Destemming followed by fermentation on the skins for three weeks in open-top oak fermenters and vats, then gentle pressing. Subsequent maturation for 18 months in small barrels made from German and French oak. No filtering and or any other treatment.

Deep ruby. Forest fruit, red cherry, fine woody notes and a hint of tobacco on the nose. Soft, smooth mouthfeel on an elegant, juicy palate. Ripe fruit, pronounced minerality and persistent length augur well for a long and distinguished life ahead. This is a Pinot Noir of incredible depth, showing an effortless, fascinating combination of power and elegance.

The vines, which were planted in 1967, are situated on the hill that slopes south towards Wissembourg in Alsace.
