Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Destemming followed by controlled maceration (skin contact) and subsequent fermentation, partly in temperature-controlled stainless steel and partly in large oak casks. Maturation in large oak casks and 228-litre Burgundian oak barrels, before bottling and subsequent release.
Deep ruby. Dark fruit, spice and pronounced minerality on the nose. This is a wine of tremendous symmetry and balance. Incredibly concentrated with excellent texture, extremely velvety tannins and strong expression. Complex flavours linger for a long time on the finish.
Sourced from 70- to 100-year-old Grenache vines on the stony plateau of La Crau, and from Mourvèdre vines on Cristia surrounding the winery with an average age of 45 years.
