Harvest of selected grapes picked over the course of two runs through the vineyard. Maceration (skin contact) for 72 hours followed by gentle pressing and then fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine was left to rest for a short time before being bottled.
Medium lemon. A persistent, intricate wine from the steepest site on the estate. White fruit, pear, and apple on the nose. Lovely silky attack on the palate, quickly replaced by a mineral, saline character.
Sourced from the original Eulengrube sub-plot of Escherndorfer Lump – a south-facing site with gradients of up to 70 degrees and deep soils consisting of shell limestone.
