The 2022 Pisoni Estate Chardonnay was in barrel for 11 months (40% New oak). This is a small production chardonnay from three clones at Pisoni Vineyards. It is sourced from very rocky (granite) soils. Yields are low and fermentation is done with 100% native yeast which brings a very slow and complex fermentation. This often takes 4 to 5 months to ferment. Wine then rests in barrel with very little stirring. Bottling is done with no fining or filtration.
Der Pisoni Chardonnay duftet nach reifen roten Äpfeln, Pfirsich, Ingwer, Mandeln, Butter und Vanille. Am Gaumen mit viel Frische und saftiger Säure. Mittelgewichtiger Körper und elegante Aromenintensität nach Zitruszesten, Feuerstein und geröstetem Baguette. Langer salzig-mineralischer Abgang.
