Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle whole-bunch pressing followed by fermentation. Subsequent maturation on the lees for ten months in 100% first-use oak barrels, with minimal disturbance.
Intense nose of citrus, gooseberry, fresh herbs, asparagus and candied fruit, along with chalky minerality and creamy barrel notes. Fresh on the palate with a juicy, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Notes of ginger, citrus zest and green apple on a complex, persistent finish.
This wine is a homage to the great wines of the Loire Valley (and specifically the late Didier Dagueneau), where 'the rocks decide' the style. The fruit is sourced from Marino Vineyard and Kick Ranch – two sites located in the heart of Sonoma County.
