Selectively picked grapes. Gentle pressing followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with malolactic fermentation to lend additional complexity.
Medium lemon. White and yellow fruit, peach and apple as well as characteristic minerality on the nose. Aromatic on the palate, rich and profound body, slightly salty finish.
Situated on the right bank of the River Serein, the 2.75-hectare premier cru Montée de Tonnerre is virtually a grand cru in all but name. Its soil consists of calcareous clay. The vines have an average age of 40 years.
