No pesticides or herbicides in the vineyard. Gentle vinification with only subtle use of oak. An average of 25% new oak for both reds and whites. Since 2012, the property has also been using larger vessels in addition to traditional 228-litre pièces.
This is a lovely introduction to Bachelet-Monnot. Inviting aromas of lime blossom and chalk on the nose. Fresh and vibrant on the palate, with beautiful minerality, dried fruit, and a complex, long finish. A superb wine of great character.
The Bachelet brothers farm 20 hectares of vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet, Santenay, Saint-Aubin, Meursault, Maranges and Dezize-lès-Maranges. Their Pinot Noir vines have an average age of 50 years, their Chardonnay vines an average age of 40 years.
