All of Julian Huber's wines, both red and white, are fermented dry as result of spending an extending period on their lees. Maturation in barriques, of which approx. 30% are new.
This white wine blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris is slightly reductive on the nose, with fresh stone fruit and citrus aromas as well as flint and delicately herbal and floral notes. The palate is juicy with chalky, mineral grip and the characteristically pronounced crisp acidity of the 2021 vintage. The finish is long, with a silky texture, notes of citrus and dried herbs, and a hint of salinity.
Julian Huber's main red variety is Pinot Noir, while his main white grapes are Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay followed by Pinot Gris and Auxerrois. His Chardonnay and Auxerrois vines are already over 40 years old. Apart from taking advantage of excellent soils and climatic conditions, Huber also achieves high quality through low yields.
