Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle pressing followed by fermentation in stainless steel, then six months on the lees. Bottling with a crown cap after the addition of the liqueur de tirage. Second fermentation and 40 months on the lees. Subsequent disgorgement without any dosage, then a further three months of bottle ageing before release.
Impressive balance and a beautifully integrated mousse – the result of long maturation. Gorgeous notes of citrus, with fine minerality and complexity.
The Franciacorta district's geography of rolling hills was shaped by glacial action during the Ice Age. The soil – glacial moraines – have an extremely rich mineral content that are conducive to the production of high-quality sparkling wine. Franciacorta's has a mild climate thanks its location amid these glacial foothills, which protect the area from harsh winter temperatures and attract enough moisture in summer. During the growing season (April to October), the average rainfall is between 500 and 600 mm, which corresponds to around two thirds of annual rainfall.
