Manual harvest followed by fermentation in stainless steel. Subsequent maturation for 14 months in new 300-litre French oak barrels (Allier and Nevers). To retain freshness, the Grenache part of the blend only sees used oak.
This Priorat has an intense nose of red and dark berries, plum, vanilla, pepper, liquorice and cinnamon. The palate is just as assertive, showing an abundance of fruit along with fine, salty minerality.
The vines sit on the famous llicorella soils of Gratallops. Llicorella is a type of soft, black slate that absorbs the warmth of the sun but has quite poor water retention, usually resulting in low crop levels.
