Experienced winemaker and viticulturalist Achim von Oetinger uses stainless steel vats in his cellar to ensure a controlled, precise fermentation.
Mineral is a fitting name for this, the 'second wine' from the Hohenrain vineyard. Flint, lime, white currant, herbs and wet stone. Linear and bone dry on the palate. Saline with great depth and not an ounce of fat.
The Hohenrain grand cru covers 6.65 hectares and faces south-west. Loess-loam soil on a 15% gradient.
