Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle pressing followed by wild-yeast fermentation in stainless steel. Maturation of 10 to 11 months on the fine lees lend added complexity and creaminess. No filtering or fining.
A velvety soft, light-footed Riesling marrying earthy minerality with delicate notes of yellow stone fruit and ripe citrus. Balanced on the palate with perfect interplay between sweetness and acidity, culminating in a long, juicy finish.
Ockfener Geisberg used to be one of the most prestigious crus in the entire Mosel region. Van Volxem bought a 12-hectare plot in the core of the vineyard, with the aim of revitalising the legendary site. Vines were replanted there in spring 2016, with 2020 the first vintage to be bottled.
