Manual harvest of grapes at peak ripeness. Traditional fermentation on the skins in oak vessels followed by extended maceration for 20 days. Subsequent gentle pressing with maturation in new oak (60%) and used oak (40%), without any intervention.
Deep ruby. Intense nose of black berries, with delicate spice as well as secondary notes of almond, dark chocolate and orange zest. Concentrated tannins on the palate, with pronounced spice as well as dark fruit notes. Juicy, minerally and elegant, with tremendous tension and a long, intense finish.
Markus Schneider's portfolio of vineyards offer ideal conditions both during and outside the growing season. He also has a veritable mosaic of soils at his disposal: loam, crushed rock, gravel, sand, loess, red sandstone, limestone and various types of clay.
