Careful selection and destemming of hand-picked grapes. Fermentation on the skins in separate batches for two to three weeks in open-top oak fermenters and vats, followed by gentle pressing. Subsequent maturation for 19 months in small oak vessels. No filtering or fining.
Fresh red fruit and spicy notes on the nose. The palate is juicy and fresh with fine, velvety tannins.
Sourced from 30- to 55-year-old vineyard holdings situated on both sides of the Franco-German border around the village of Schweigen.
