Weingut Joh. Jos. Prüm
A leading Mosel estate for over a century, Weingut Joh. Jos. Prüm has an outstanding reputation worldwide. The property’s Rieslings are known for their longevity and their ability to accurately reflect the soils, climate and individual character of their vineyards each and every vintage.
Not only is Weingut Joh. Jos. Prüm (also JJ Prüm) one of the best estates in the whole of Germany, but few other producers worldwide are as highly acclaimed, particularly among aficionados. In 1911, the winery passed to Johann Josef Prüm as part of the division of the estate. Sebastian Prüm managed the property till 1969. Son Manfred Prüm succeeded him until 2007 before handing over the reins to his eldest daughter and great-granddaughter of the founder, fellow lawyer Katharina Prüm.
Exceptional steep slate vineyards on the Mittelmosel
The estate today comprises around 22 hectares, monopolised entirely by Riesling. Old, ungrafted vines dominate these holdings, which are all situated in some of the Mosel’s very best vineyards: Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher Himmelreich, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr and Bernkasteler Badstube.
Authentic, ageworthy Riesling
Katharina Prüm is committed to producing wines that express their soils and the prevailing weather conditions as authentically as possible from vintage to vintage. Choosing the right time to pick is an essential prerequisite in this regard. Katharina also favours minimal intervention in the cellar along with spontaneous fermentation and relatively late bottling. Prüm wines are famous for their longevity. They remain youthful and fresh for many years and are expressive, complex and pure in character.
Around 150,000 bottles are produced annually, spread over ten wines.
“Our fruitful relationship with Boucherville now dates back over 30 years. During this time, our friendly, professional dealings have been based on a mutual passion for wine. We are very happy and excited to have them as one of our partners.”
Katharina Prüm

Germany
Moselle
The steep banks of the Mosel are home to mineral-driven, elegant wines. Riesling, sometimes referred to as the king (or queen) of white wines, is the most important grape along the German stretch of the Mosel Valley, accounting for over 5,300 hectares under vine. This makes the Mosel wine region the largest producer of Riesling worldwide.
