Hand-picked grapes transported swiftly back to the winery. Triage and gentle pressing. Fermentation in 1'200-litre oak vessels. All the estate's wines are vegan, i.e. no animal products were used in the vinification process.
This complex Riesling is starting to show some maturity but remains as fresh as a daisy on the nose, with citrus, pineapple and lychee complemented by ripe pear, quince, honey and fresh herbs. Fresh on the palate, with juicy acidity balancing out a hint of residual sweetness (7 g/l). Pleasant mineral texture complemented by exotic fruit, garden herbs and a subtle note of petrol. The finish is long and complex.
The vineyards of the famous Rüdesheim hill sit on medium-to-deep Taunus quartzite soils that have a light covering of slate.
